Ivette Estrada, Grant Program Specialist

Ivette Estrada serves as a Grant Program Specialist with the SMART Office for the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs (OJP). Ms. Estrada manages SMART Office grant programs, which include the Adam Walsh Act Implementation grant program and the Comprehensive Approaches to Sex Offender Management grant program, and assists with sex offender management issues.

Prior to joining the SMART office, Ms. Estrada served as a Grant Management Specialist with the Office of Justice Programs, Community Capacity Development Office (CCDO) coordinating the implementation of the Weed and Seed initiatives in California, New Mexico, Montana, Connecticut, Ohio and Puerto Rico. At CCDO, she worked with state and local government agencies, Indian tribes, non-profit and faith-based organizations to design strategies for crime prevention and neighborhood revitalization. She also served as CCDO's subject matter expert on gangs and participated on OJP's Evidence Integration Initiative for Gangs.

Ms. Estrada graduated from the Executive Leadership Program in 2010 and completed a detail at the Executive Office for U.S. Attorneys, where she was responsible for the commencement of the DNA Scientific Case Review Project within the U.S. Department of Justice.

Ms. Estrada received her B.S., magna cum laude, in Criminology from the University of Turabo, Puerto Rico and is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Public Administration at George Mason University, Virginia.
